Instructions for Authors

Authors may only submit manuscripts to Journal of Islam in Europe and in the Mediterranean World under the following conditions:

  • They submit an original manuscript, not previously published (in whole or in substantial part) and not submitted for publication to other journals or publishing houses.
  • They agree to comply with the journal's blind peer-review process.
  • They undertake to read and adhere to the ethical guidelines. (Code of ethics)

Authors are requested to format their manuscript proposal by using this template (without adding new styles). (Download JIEMW Manuscript Template)

 

General Guidelines

Composition of text

Manuscripts should be compiled in the following order (see the template): (Download JIEMW Manuscript Template)

  • Title;
  • Author(s) name; Author(s) affiliation(s) and email(s);
  • Abstract in English (maximum 150 words) and Keywords (maximum 6) in English;
  • Title, Abstract (maximum 150 words) and Keywords (maximum 6) in French;
  • Title, Abstract (maximum 150 words) and Keywords (maximum 6) in Arabic (they may not be included – in that case they will be edited by the journal and submitted to the author(s) for acceptance);
  • Main text (please adopt the text styles as indicated in the template);
  • Author Contributions;
  • Funding;
  • Acknowledgement;
  • References (APA style).

Language

To encourage maximum circulation of the journal throughout the Mediterranean world, the JIEMW accepts articles in English, in French or in Italian.

All the articles should be accompanied by the abstract in English and in French (compiled by the author) and in Arabic (compiled by the Editorial Staff). The content of the abstracts in the different languages should correspond.

Writing should be concise and correct. Non-native speakers are strongly recommended to have the article professionally edited before submission.

Length

The total length of the article must not exceed 55.000 characters (spaces included) including the following sections: abstract in English and in French (maximum 150 words each), keywords in English and in French (maximum 6), Author Contributions, Funding, Acknowledgements, References.

Hyphens and dashes

Do not hyphenate words at the end of lines. Use hyphens only in compound words.

Tables and images

Tables and images should be placed within the text, at the relevant text. The author could send tables and images also as a separate file.

Notes

It is possible to insert notes to the text, in form of endnotes, to add further indications considered relevant for the understanding of the text or for the deepening of the treated theme, or even to acknowledge copyright permission status. Notes should be sequentially numbered with superscript Arabic numerals.

 

Instructions for Guest Editors

To propose a special issue, please write to the journal's Editors: jiemw.fisppa@unipd.it.

The Special Issue proposal must include:

  • Title of the Special Issue.
  • Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the Guest Editor(s).
  • Presentation of the topic and description of the objectives of the Special Issue
  • A (not necessarily exhaustive) list of possible topics for the submitting articles.

Manuscript style

Uploaded manuscript file and supplementary files format: doc, docx, odt, rtf. PDFs are not acceptable. Articles failing to conform to the editorial norms may not be considered for publication.

Privacy statement

All personal information (including name and contact details) registered on the JIEMW website will be used exclusively for the declared purposes of this journal and will not be made available for other purposes or to third parties.

Submission

Submission of manuscripts, by authors, and Special issues, by Guest Editors, must only be made through the online platform.

Instructions pour les auteur-trice-s

Les auteur-trice-s ne peuvent soumettre des manuscrits à la Journal of Islam in Europe and in the Mediterranean World que dans les conditions suivantes :

  • Il-elle-s soumettent un manuscrit original, qui n'a pas été publié auparavant (en totalité ou en grande partie) et qui n'a pas été soumis pour publication à d'autres revues ou maisons d'édition.
  • Il-elle-s acceptent de se soumettre à la procédure d'évaluation en aveugle de la revue.
  • Il-elle-s s'engagent à lire et à respecter les lignes directrices éthiques. (Code D'éthique)

Les auteur-trice-s sont priés de formater leur proposition de manuscrit en utilisant ce modèle (sans ajouter de nouveaux styles). (voir le modèle)

Lignes directrices générales

Composition du texte

Les manuscrits doivent être compilés dans l'ordre suivant (voir le modèle) :

  • Titre;
  • Nom de l'auteur-trice ; affiliation de l'auteur-trice et courriel ;
  • Résumé en anglais (150 mots maximum) et mots-clés (6 maximum) en anglais ;
  • Titre, résumé (150 mots maximum) et mots-clés (6 maximum) en français ;
  • Titre, résumé (150 mots maximum) et mots-clés (6 maximum) en arabe (ils peuvent ne pas être inclus - dans ce cas, ils seront édités par la revue et soumis à l'auteur ou aux auteurs pour acceptation) ;
  • Texte principal (veuillez adopter les styles de texte indiqués dans le modèle) ;
  • Contributions des auteur-trice-s ;
  • Financement ;
  • Remerciements ;
  • Références (style APA).

Langue

Afin de favoriser une diffusion maximale de la revue dans le monde méditerranéen, le JIEMW accepte les articles en anglais, en français ou en italien.

Tous les articles doivent être accompagnés d'un résumé en anglais et en français (compilé par l'auteur-trice) et en arabe (compilé par l’ Editorial Staff). Le contenu des résumés dans les différentes langues doit correspondre.

L'écriture doit être concise et correcte. Il est fortement recommandé aux personnes dont ce n'est pas la langue maternelle de faire réviser leur article par un professionnel avant de le soumettre.

Longueur

La longueur totale de l'article ne doit pas dépasser 55 000 caractères (espaces compris), y compris les sections suivantes : résumé en anglais et en français (150 mots maximum chacun), mots-clés en anglais et en français (6 maximum), contributions des auteur-trice-s, financement, remerciements, références.

Traits d'union et tirets

Ne mettez pas de trait d'union en fin de ligne. N'utilisez les traits d'union que dans les mots composés.

Tableaux et images

Les tableaux et les images doivent être placés dans le texte, à l'endroit approprié. L'auteur-trice peut également envoyer les tableaux et les images dans un fichier séparé.

Notes

Il est possible d'insérer des notes dans le texte, sous forme de notes de fin de document, pour ajouter des indications supplémentaires jugées pertinentes pour la compréhension du texte ou pour l'approfondissement du thème traité, ou même pour reconnaître l'existence d'un droit d'auteur. Les notes doivent être numérotées séquentiellement avec des chiffres arabes en exposant.

Instructions pour les Guest Editors

Pour proposer un numéro spécial, veuillez écrire aux Editors de la revue : jiemw.fisppa@unipd.it.

La proposition de numéro spécial doit comprendre

  • Titre du numéro spécial.
  • Noms et affiliations des Guest Editors.
  • Présentation du sujet et description des objectifs du numéro spécial
  • Une liste (pas nécessairement exhaustive) de sujets possibles pour les articles soumis.

Style du manuscrit

Fichier manuscrit et fichiers supplémentaires téléchargés au format : doc, docx, odt, rtf. Les fichiers PDF ne sont pas acceptés. Les articles qui ne respectent pas les normes éditoriales peuvent ne pas être pris en considération pour la publication.

Déclaration de confidentialité

Toutes les informations personnelles (y compris le nom et les coordonnées) enregistrées sur le site web du JIEMW seront utilisées exclusivement aux fins déclarées de ce journal et ne seront pas mises à disposition à d'autres fins ou à des tiers.

Soumission

La soumission des manuscrits, par les auteur-trice-s, et des numéros spéciaux, par les Guest Editors, doit se faire uniquement par le biais de la plateforme en ligne.

Istruzioni per gli autori

Gli autori possono inviare manoscritti al Journal of Islam in Europe and in the Mediterranean World solo alle seguenti condizioni:

  • Presentano un manoscritto originale, non pubblicato in precedenza (in tutto o in parte) e non presentato per la pubblicazione ad altre riviste o case editrici.
  • Accettano di rispettare il processo di blind peer-review della rivista.
  • Si impegnano a leggere e rispettare le linee guida etiche. (Codice Etico)

Gli autori sono pregati di formattare la loro proposta di manoscritto utilizzando questo modello (senza aggiungere nuovi stili). (vedi modello)

Linee guida generali

Composizione del testo

I manoscritti devono essere compilati nel seguente ordine (vedi modello):

  • Titolo;
  • Nome dell'autore (o degli autori); affiliazione dell'autore (o degli autori) e email;
  • Abstract in inglese (massimo 150 parole) e parole chiave (massimo 6) in inglese;
  • Titolo, Abstract (massimo 150 parole) e Parole chiave (massimo 6) in francese;
  • Titolo, Abstract (massimo 150 parole) e Parole chiave (massimo 6) in arabo (possono anche non essere inclusi - in tal caso saranno editati dalla rivista e sottoposti agli autori per l'accettazione);
  • Testo principale (adottare gli stili di testo indicati nel modello);
  • Contributo degli autori;
  • Finanziamento;
  • Ringraziamenti;
  • Riferimenti (stile APA).

Lingua

Per favorire la massima diffusione della rivista in tutto il mondo mediterraneo, il JIEMW accetta articoli in inglese, in francese o in italiano.

Tutti gli articoli devono essere accompagnati dall'abstract in inglese e in francese (redatto dall'autore) e in arabo (redatto dalla Redazione). Il contenuto degli abstract nelle diverse lingue deve corrispondere.

La scrittura deve essere concisa e corretta. Si raccomanda vivamente a chi non è madrelingua di sottoporre l'articolo a un editing professionale prima dell'invio.

Lunghezza

La lunghezza totale dell'articolo non deve superare i 55.000 caratteri (spazi inclusi), comprese le seguenti sezioni: abstract in inglese e in francese (massimo 150 parole ciascuna), parole chiave in inglese e in francese (massimo 6), contributi degli autori, finanziamenti, ringraziamenti, referenze.

Trattini e lineette

Non sillabare le parole alla fine delle righe. Usare i trattini solo nelle parole composte.

Tabelle e immagini

Le tabelle e le immagini devono essere inserite all'interno del testo, in corrispondenza del relativo testo. L'autore può inviare tabelle e immagini anche come file separato.

Note

È possibile inserire note al testo, sotto forma di endnotes, per aggiungere ulteriori indicazioni ritenute rilevanti per la comprensione del testo o per l'approfondimento del tema trattato, o anche per riconoscere lo stato dei permessi di copyright. Le note devono essere numerate in sequenza con numeri arabi apici.     

Istruzioni per i redattori ospiti

Per proporre un numero speciale, scrivere agli Editors della rivista: jiemw.fisppa@unipd.it.

La proposta di numero speciale deve includere:

  • Titolo del numero speciale.
  • Nome/i e affiliazione/i del/i Guest Editor(s) ospite/i.
  • Presentazione dell'argomento e descrizione degli obiettivi del numero speciale
  • Un elenco (non necessariamente esaustivo) di possibili argomenti.

Stile del manoscritto

Il file del manoscritto e i file supplementari caricati possono essere in formato doc, docx, odt, rtf. I file .pdf non verranno accettati. Gli articoli non conformi alle norme editoriali non saranno presi in considerazione per la pubblicazione.

Informativa sulla privacy

Tutte le informazioni personali (compresi nome e recapiti) registrate sul sito web di JIEMW saranno utilizzate esclusivamente per gli scopi dichiarati di questa rivista e non saranno rese disponibili per altri scopi o a terzi.

Invio di manoscritti

L'invio di manoscritti, da parte degli autori, e di numeri speciali, da parte dei Guest Editors, deve avvenire esclusivamente attraverso la piattaforma online.
